What is The Difference Between a Private Detective and Private Investigator?

In Illinois, a Private Detective is the license holder. A Private Investigator must work for a Private Detective through the Private Detective’s Agency. As a side note, a Private Detective Agency must be a Corporation. The Private Detective holds the State License and the Private Investigator does not. He is only an employee. Many times I have seen where both of those terms are interchanged. Even I use those two terms interchanged on this website. Hum? And now you know. Stay Safe.

Definition of Robbery

The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines robbery as the taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.

Definition of Burglary

The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines burglary as the unlawful entry of a structure to commit a felony or theft. To classify an offense as a burglary, the use of force to gain entry need not have occurred. The UCR Program has three subclassifications for burglary: forcible entry, unlawful entry where no force is used, and attempted forcible entry. The UCR definition of “structure” includes apartment, barn, house trailer or houseboat when used as a permanent dwelling, office, railroad car (but not automobile), stable, and vessel (i.e., ship).

Why to Pull to The Right?

Just a quick tip to save your butt. When you see a police car behind you with lights and siren, pull to the right. Too many stupid drivers stay in the left lane or STOP right in the middle of the highway. In doing so, you risk not only your life but the lives of the police officers and other innocent bystanders. Stay safe.

Domestic Violence Effects

Domestic violence

is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner. Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone. Call 911 if you are experiencing domestic violence.
